Title: Analytical Chemist
Position Summary:
The Analytical Chemist reports to Senior Chemist and is responsible to conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses or chemical experiments in laboratories for quality or process control. The Chemist shall also provide feedback, periodic reports and inputs for strategic planning purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine analytical testing of experimental batches as per compendia or in-house methods under current good laboratory practice.
- Maintain adequate control of chemicals, reagents, reference standards and impurities samples.
- Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Writes technical papers and reports and prepares standards and specifications for methods and/or products.
- Compiles and analyzes test data information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions.
- Confers with scientists to conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
Prepares test solutions, compounds, and/or reagents for routine laboratory testing.
- Perform method development/validation.
- Prepare method validation protocols and validation reports.
- Perform other necessary functions or duties as assigned by the Vice President or immediate supervisor.
Minimum requirements for this position:
- A BS or MS degree in pharmacy, chemistry, chemical engineering or related field
- 0-3 years pharmaceutical/GMP experience
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues, partners and customers
- Willingness to work in an entrepreneurial environment, travel overnight and take responsibility
It is desirable that the candidate for this position is qualified and/or knowledgeable in:
- HPLC, GC, dissolution testing and wet chemistries
